The purpose of mågård data’s Aiport Logistics is to optimize the handling af goods receipt in airports to shops. It makes sure the goods are not lost and that they reach the customers as they are supposed to.
It also supports the customers own, local warehouses, which means that the customers can have articles in remote stores. And the system supports ordinary handling of customers like receiving and dispatch of mail and packages, collecting of garbage, cleaning and other services you define yourself.
And possibly most important, the general security is beefed up.

The system is online, and synchronizes the tasks of the different employees – a parcel for instance, cannot be handed over to the customer, before it is registered as received.

Aiport Logistics contains the following functions:

Everyday use

All articles and all mail are scanned when received. That way you can always document precisely what you have received from the different distributors and customers. In the same way all handing over of articles and mail is only done against signature, so you afterwards can document that articles and mail have been handed over correctly.

Repackage pallets

It will often be necessary to repackage packages and pallets.

Some times the packages neOmpak Palleeds to be collected into a pallet and some times a pallet is to big and has to be distributed to several different pallets. No matter the reason, repackaging is a major task – it is simply to bothersome and takes to much time, so the customer has to be invoiced. The employee needs to mark the article as repackaged, as you can see here:

Send mail for the customers

You can receive mail from the customers and make sure to send it correctly. You receive the mail, either by the customer calling and ordering an employee to come by and fetch the mail or the next time and employee passes by anyway.

The customer hands over his mail, the employee receives the signature of the customer and registers how many letters and packages there are.

When you deliver the mail to the distributor – either when the distributor comes with goods anyway, or by driving by the distributors  – you show the employee of the distributor the letters and packages and then get a signature from the employee – proof that he has received the given amount of mail. As extra documentation, you can take a picture of letters and packages.

Remove garbage for the customers and other service-tasks

The customers will often appreciate to have their garbage removed. You can either make a firm commitment or the customers can just make a call when they need to have garbage removed. No matter how, you drive down and fetch the garbage, drives it to recycling or what ever, and registers on the terminal that it’s done.

But there are other service functions that the customers need and you can therefor put on the invoice. Tasks like cleaning up in the warehouse, make sure goods does not exceed their best-before date, move shelves, label goods etc. These are all tasks that fits nicely with the other tasks the employees does for the customers – but these tasks are often more difficult to demand payment for.

That problem disappears if you turn these functions into formal service functions the customer can buy. Give the customers a list over the available service functions and have the employees register when they handle a service function. Then it will automatically get on the next invoice.

Coordinate the employees

It is difficult to ensure that all the employees works seamlessly together, both in everyday life and for the big large tasks.

But Central logistic can help them with that. Firstly the terminals contain the same functions as ordinary mobiles, meaning you can MMS, SMS and mail or call other employees. You can take a picture and send it to one or more employees (or customers).

But in addition to that, Center Logistic contains functions directly  biased on giving users a possibility of coordinate their tasks. For instance, the employee can track a package on the terminal, using the package-number if you want to know where a specific package is, the customer number if you for instance want to know how many packed a given customer has received, a location if you need to know how many packages there are on the location and how many packages that has been moved to and from the location, etc etc. You can ask if certain tasks has been done, for instance if there  has been delivered mail for a certain customer, who has done a specific task so you can call him and ask questions. You can see a list of outstanding tasks of the day, so the employee settle on certain tasks and the leader can delegate tasks.

Collect data

Every single movement is registered and saved in the history. That means every package received, moved, sorted, handed out, garbage collected, mail collected etc etc – Every single movement is registered in the history and never forgotten.

So you can always look back – as long as you like, several years if you would like – see what happened.

It contains – like all the tables in Center Logistic – advanced search- and filter-functions, along with possibilities of printing the tables on paper, save them as files and export them to Excel and databases etc.

Reports

Center Logistics contains on top of the built in reports of the tables, a number of standard-reports:

Customer reportKunderapport The customer report, you can yourself design and adapt, contains for each customer a list of which benefits the customer has received and when. Moreover it is possible to change the report, both looks and contents. If you wish to for instance change the logo, it is easy to change the logo to something else.

Own designed reports

It is easy to make reports with Center Logistics. Let us for instance say we need to see which distributors we receive the most goods from. Create a report with the following sql-expression:

it may look a little complicated, but it is actually easy to figure out. And there are many examples to start out with.

Enter the expression in the Sql-window in Center Logistics and click on Expression.

As you can see, the result is shown in lower window. That you can save (eg. as an Excel spreadsheet) or print. You can also save the expression in a text-file and you can save it in the menu under some name. This example we could for instance call Received per distributor or something like that.

The programs

The terminal-program

All terminals are delivered with all necessary software installed and ready to use. The program can also be bought without terminal for 265,70 € plus VAT.

The Pc-program

The Pc program consist of the following program files:

  • Client
  • Server

The client is the program used to look into and edit data, for instance create new customers and locations and the like. This is also where you search for packages, write out reports, and in general maintains the database etc.

The server is the program that communicates with the terminals. When you wish to hand out a package, you scan the package with the terminal. The terminal transmit the barcode to the server, the server looks up the package in the database, marks it as handed out and and sends the answer to the terminal: “Package handed over”.
